These Carver “Auto-Four” presses are four post design with bolsters for maximum rigidity. Integral hydraulic power unit is completely self-contained and electrically operated. Fully programmable controls direct press functions and provide for recipe storage. Clamp area is fully guarded with interlocked operator gate.

Chart Recorders for data acquisition are available for any of these three AutoFour ASTM Models. Chase Frame molds for pressing test plaques, Floor Stands and Chillers for controlled water cooling are available for the Plastic Model ASTM Presses (4393 & 4394).

The ASTM Catalog#’s 4393 and 4394 meet the more demanding requirements for molding test plaques in Class 5 polyethylene materials with “Auto-Four” bench top hydraulic compression presses, 15 or 30 tons clamp force. ASTM D4703 (formerly D1928) Procedure C demands accurate and controlled cooling from 180°C to 45°C. The “Auto-Four” presses have electrically heated 12” x 12” platens which are designed for automatic cooling.

  • Water Requirements: 8 – 10 GPM (approximate) at 50 psi and 8 – 13 deg C
  • Compressed Air Requirements: 0.5 SCFM at 80 psi (Required for platen cooling only)

NOTE: Pressure step-down will relax the force to "0" and rebound to the next lower force setpoint. To run material class 1 thru 4 requires a constant water supply of 13 deg. C (55 deg. F.) To run class 5 material, a constant water supply of 8 deg. C (45 deg. F) is necessary.  Water and air cooled chillers for providing the proper process water are available as an option.

  • Programmable control system; Full touch screen interface, 20 Programmable setpoints of clamp force, cure time and temperature per recipe, 10 recipe storage capability, Programmable in force units of Kg, US Tons, Metric Tons & Pounds, Programmable in temperature units of degree F or C, Automatic bump sequence (can be programmed in any of all segments), Either force or temperature mode can be chosen per segment.
